Building strong nations through modern finance.
Learn More

Our goal is to foster stability by supporting projects that complement the strengths alive in the community. We build on vision, and fund through experience. Unlike any company working in Aboriginal finance, we build off our core belief that building healthy relationships is the key to success.

OUR MODERN FINANCIAL SOLUTION

We secure solid, personalized debt, resource and project financing that prioritizes band ownership, continued revenue and community development.

REFINANCING AND CONSOLIDATION

REFINANCING AND CONSOLIDATION

Our process allows First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities to free up cash by connecting them to capital financing and supports them going forward to create a strong and stable financial foundation.

PROJECT FINANCING

PROJECT FINANCING

We bring speed, progress and action through one-of-a-kind financial solutions. We work directly with communities to consider every social, cultural and financial need to ensure success.

RESOURCE FINANCING

RESOURCE FINANCING

Our team members use their financial experience to get access to capital in order to fund projects on band owned land. The solutions prioritize community involvement and ownership to build a pathway that generates revenue and jobs that feed the economy.

TYPES OF FINANCING

Long Term Loan Agreement

A long-term loan arrangement with stable predictable payments

BENEFIT:

Spread payments over a reasonable low cost and increase stability.

Our Role:

The Usand Group negotiates the best rate and terms by inviting multiple financial institutions to submit financing proposals.

Bridge Financing

A short-term loan with a quick turn around

BENEFIT:

Project development begins immediately, securing faster revenue and community benefits.

Our Role:

We coordinate the loan and help structure and negotiate this product into a larger customized package unique to the needs of the community.

Construction Financing

Structured cash flows directly tied to a specific project need

BENEFIT:

Capital Efficiency—Every dollar works for the community at all times.

Our Role:

We work with your community to find a loan structure that works with the needs and capacity of your project.

Alternative Financing

Bond Offering

A type of loan agreement where the “loan” is publicly traded and many people can invest in it.

Mezzanine Financing

A business loan that uses equity as collateral. If the project doesn’t see immediate revenue, lender has the opportunity to own a piece of the project at a predetermined rate.

Synthetic Equity

A type of loan where the lender has short-term, “synthetic” part-ownership of a company.

Note Offerings

A short term loan, between three to ten years, that can have a variety of terms tailored to the needs of the project. A note is often delivered through a financial institution, but the actual “loan” can be given by an investment or partnership group.

We are greatly pleased with the outcomes of this deal and are proud to say that Usand has established a productive, longstanding relationship with both the Chief and the community throughout the course of this project.

Misipawistik Cree Nation

We were able to improve the financial structure of our business and obtain better interest rates than before. The process was fast, transparent, and Usand’s representatives were always available to answer our questions. Our truck stop is continuing to thrive and we look forward to further growth in the future.

Edmundston Truck Stop

We wanted to ensure that our community was in the right financial position to pursue our economic goals. The Usand Group worked well with us to create a more complete financial picture that could incorporate both our immediate and longer term plans. We are very excited to have completed this first milestone and look forward to starting on our next phase.
